Every Person Can Learn.

I believe that every person can learn music. Children especially thrive when they are given patience, encouragement, and the freedom to learn at their own pace. Musical ability is not something reserved for a select few - it can be nurtured and developed in every child through supportive teaching and a genuine love of music.

A group of five children playing cellos in a classroom, smiling and looking at each other, with musical stands and sheet music in front of them. The classroom has large windows, bookshelves, plants, and posters with music-related quotes.
A woman and a man smiling, standing close together. The woman is wearing a blue and white striped blouse and a brooch, and the man is wearing a blue suit, white shirt, and striped tie. They are indoors, and the caption indicates they are Jan Burroughs (Lisa's mom) and Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, circa 1989.

The Suzuki Philosophy

My teaching is deeply rooted in the Suzuki philosophy and the belief that every child has the ability to learn. Just as children learn to speak through listening, encouragement, repetition, and a supportive environment, musical ability can be developed in much the same way.

For young students, parents are an important part of this process. Parents attend lessons, learn alongside their child, and help create a positive practice environment at home.
